LUKOIL put new facilities into operation on Yaregskoye field

Last week the President of PJSC "LUKOIL" Vagit Alekperov and Head of the Komi Republic Sergey Gaplikov launched into commercial operation oil pre-gathering point and water treatment installation on Yaregskoye field in the Komi Republic. Capacity of the first stage of the point is 1.75 million tons of oil per year.

Water treatment installation VPU-700 was introduced with the aim of cleaning produced water to generate steam from it, injected into reservoirs during production of high-viscosity oil. Installation capacity is 700 cubic meters of water per hour.

The development of the highly viscous oil of Yaregskoye field is one of the key projects supporting the growth of LUKOIL Group. Development plans for Yaregskoye oil field provide for construction of more than 20 facilities, including steam generating units and a 75-megawatt power plant. The project will allow to raise oil production at Yaregskoye field up to 3.5 million tons compared against 0.7 million tons in 2015.

The Water treatment installation includes a pumping station of treated water supplied by "Corporation Uraltechnostroy" LLC on the project 1094.

Yaregskoye field was discovered in 1932, it is located in the south of the Timan-Pechora Province, Ukhta District of Komi Republic, 20 km off Ukhta and covers three major areas under development: Vezhavozhskaya, Yaregskaya and Lyaelskaya. Development began in 1939. Proved reserves at the end of 2015 amounted to 321 million barrels of oil.

LUKOIL became the first company in the world to implement the project of counter thermo drainage layer with a trunk up to 1 km on Lyaelskoy square.
