Automated chemical injection unit serves to dose injections of various chemicals into pipeline of oilfield transportation system and oil treatment in order to perform interior oil de-emulsification as well as pipeline and equipment corrosion protection.

Components composition

Automated chemical injection unit (ACIU) is a modular structure unit. Equipment is mounted onto a welded skid and located in a heat insulated premise.

ACIU includes:

• Process module;
• Equipment module.

Process module includes:

• dosing pump for constant volumetric metering of chemicals (a spare dosing pump is designed);
• gear type pump (НМШ) performing filling of process tanks with chemicals and chemicals periodic mixing inside tanks;
• process tank for chemicals storing and warming up with built-in electrical heater.

Electrical equipment installed in process module is controlled from control cabinet located in equipment module. Local control system, regulating chemicals injection depending on oil and gas mixture flow, includes microprocessor control device and instrumentation.

Parameters registered by local control system:

• pump discharge pressure;
• temperature of chemicals, de-emulsifiers;
• signaling system for alert level in process tank.

Shelter modules are equipped with electrical or hot-water heating systems, lighting system, ventilation, gas accumulation control and fire alarm sensors.

Premise of automated chemical injection unit is composed of modules with the following dimensions: 3000х6000х2950 mm, 3000х9000х2950 mm, connected in order and equipped with components depending on customer’s and design engineer requirements.

Automated chemical injection unit manufacturing complies with OST 26.260.18-2004 “Modules for gas and oil industry. General technical requirements”.
